After the over indulgences of Christmas & New Year it was good to get out on a couple of walks recently.
The first one, two weeks ago before the snow,we headed over into the wild Newcastleton countryside to explore Blackburn waterfalls - one of the walks featured in Ian Landles & Alan Brydon's book. Typical reiving countryside, bleak and windswept but great walking.
And on Sunday past it was the familiar Border hill Ruberslaw which we conquered despite the snow and biting wind. Definitely no cobwebs left on Sunday night and the fastest lunchbreak ever before hypothermia set in just off the summit! The younger members of the team even managed to sledge their way down. Great fun and refreshing to see we weren't the only ones taking to this famous landmark on a chilly January day. Wee Talla out with us for the first time since her pups enjoyed the freedom.
